What is CBN?
CBN is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant. CBN is a breakdown product of THC, produced as the THC molecule ages and begins to oxidize. CBN is typically found in small concentrations in older cannabis plants. CBN isolate can be created using chemistry techniques to convert CBD to CBN.
CBN & Sleep
Research has demonstrated that a small dose of CBN can be more effective at promoting sleep than a larger dose of THC. CBN has also been shown to increase the amount of time that patients spend in deep sleep, which is important for physical restoration and memory consolidation. More research is needed to fully understand the effects of CBN on sleep and to determine the optimal dose for use as a sleep aid.

Background:
Data on the effects of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), in combination with cannabinol (CBN), on sleep is preliminary; however, preclinical research indicates that CBN may prolong sleep and be particularly effective when combined with other cannabinoids.
Results:
Throughout the study patients reported an average of a 22% increase in feelings of restfulness upon awakening and 18% average increase in overall sleep quality.
